Women's Soccer Ends the Regular Season with a Win
The Columbia International University women's soccer team took the road to close out their regular season. The Rams took I-77 up to Charlotte, NC to take on the Johnson & Wales-Charlotte Wildcats. The Rams and Wildcats met earlier in the season with the Rams winning that game 2-0. Today was just the same other than the field as the Rams would beat the Wildcats 2-0. With the win the Rams move to 8-4-3, while the Wildcats fall to 10-5.

The Rams would get the first shot of the game in the sixth minute as Alanna Battermann was able to get it off, but the Wildcats goalie was there to make the save. About two and a half minutes later the Wildcats fouled the Rams in the box and the Rams were awarded a penalty kick. Janie Holland stepped up to take the penalty kick and deposited it into the back of the net to give the Rams an early lead. The Rams would continue to keep up the offensive pressure. Just after it crossed the sixteen minute mark Battermann was able to get another shot and this time the ball found the back of the net to give the Rams a two goal lead. The Wildcats would get two shots off over the next twenty-nine minutes, but Angel Simpson saved both shots and the Rams took their lead into halftime.

In the beginning of the second half the Wildcats were able to put some pressure on the Rams, but they wouldn't get on the board. From the fifty-fifth minute to the sixty-first it was all Rams, but unfortunately they wouldn't get another goal. Each team would continue to have their chances throughout the rest of the half, but as the final horn sounded the Rams closed out the regular season with a 2-0 victory.
