Rams Fall to the Knights in Midweek Clash
The Columbia International University men's soccer team took to the road today to face off against the St. Andrews Knights. The Rams fell behind early in the first half as the Knights would score two goals to win by that final score. The Rams fall to 5-9-2 on the season, while the Knights move to 8-6.
The Knights got off to a quick start over the Rams as they scored in the second minute of the match. The Rams would try to even the match over the next minutes, but the Knights would pick up their second goal of the game at in the twenty-first minute of the match. The Rams would go into the half down by two.
Each team would push in the second half as the Rams were looking to get back into the game and the Knights were trying to push their lead higher. Neither team would get a goal in the second half and Knights would win by the final score of 2-0.
Columbia International had nine shots with six on goal and the Knights had 13 shots overall. Each team had five corners in the game.
Hugo Lemus had three saves in the game, while
Ricky Prestridge and
Victor Maron each had two shots on goal.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Toccoa Falls, Georgia to take on the Eagles at 7 p.m.
