Box Score The Columbia International University men's basketball team traveled east to take on NCAA DI Charleston Southern University. This was the second year in a row that the Rams have faced off against the Buccaneers. The Rams were not able to upset the Buccaneers as they fell 90-53. The Rams drop to 2-3 on the season, while the Buccaneers move to 1-1.
The Buccaneers were able to score the first five points of the game, but the Rams would tie the game at 7 after a good three pointer from Damian Hurta. The Buccaneers would score the next 19 points before the Rams were able to score again. The Rams would continue to try and find an offensive rhythm, but the length and depth of the Buccaneers hurt the Rams as the Buccaneers took a 39-21 lead in the break.
In the second half the Buccaneers would continue to push their lead, but the Rams never gave up and kept fighting against a tough opponent. Ryan Gibson led the Rams in the second half scoring 13 of his 20 points. The Buccaneers would go on to beat the Rams 90-53.
Gibson led the Rams with 20 points...The Rams were able to force the Buccaneers into 13 turnovers...Juraj Rovis had 8 points, while Jordan Dillingham had 6...Christian Keeling had 19 points for the Buccaneers.
The Rams will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Concord, SC to take on Barber-Scotia College at 7 p.m.
