Late First Half Goal Sinks Rams

The Rams went into Wednesday looking to get past their loss against Chowan on Saturday, but they could not solve the Southern Wesleyan Warriors defense and lost a heart-breaker 1-0. The Rams move to 5-4-1 on the season, while the Warriors move to 2-8.

The Rams and Warriors battled all throughout the first half as the Rams had five shots compared to the Warriors 14. It was all tied at zero as the first half came to an end, but that was when the Warriors would score the only goal of the game. With just twenty-four seconds remaining in the first half the Warriors were able to get the lone goal and take that lead into half.

The Rams and Warriors would continue to battle throughout the second half, but the Rams weren't able to find the equalizer. When the clock hit zero the Warriors walked away with the win.

The Rams offense registered eight shots with six being on goal...Angela McMaster led the Rams with two shots on goal and four other Rams registered one...Sam Wammock kept the Rams in the game as she had 10 big saves to give the Rams a fighting chance.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday as they will travel to Truett-McConnell for a 2 p.m. game.
