Columbia International University Athletics

COLUMBIA, SC - CIU Athletics has announced its first-ever Athletic Director's Academic Honor Role, recognizing 90 CIU student-athletes for their outstanding academic performance during the fall semester.  Each of these students have demonstrated their commitment to academic achievement which is one of the core values of CIU athletics.

CIU Athletic Director James Whitaker announced this initiative to recognize Ram student-athletes who are excelling in the classroom. Each semester, the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll will recognize student-athletes who achieve a specific grade point average. The honor roll will contain three different teams of academic achievement based on GPA.

The levels will be as follows:
1st Team  All-Academic (3.75 or higher)
2^nd Team All-Academic (3.50-3.74)
3rd Team All-Academic (3.25-3.49).
 
Whitaker commented on the newly released honor role, saying, "I'm excited to start these academic teams to honor our CIU athletes for their excellence in the classroom. These students best exemplify our commitment to being successful on and off the court or field, and we are proud of their hard work and commitment to their studies."
