Tucker MacDonald

Tucker MacDonald joined CIU Athletics in the Spring of 2020 as the Ram's third Men's Golf Coach in CIU history. MacDonald heads into his third season as a head coach in the fall of 2021, bringing a wealth of playing and teaching experience with him. 

MacDonalds' squad made their mark during the 2020-2021 fall and spring seasons as the Rams finished second in the 2020 NCCAA South Region Tournament and third in the 2020 NCCAA National Tournament. CIU's Jake Montgomery was named an NCCAA All-American for the third straight year and is the first All-American under Macdonald's tenure. 

In the spring of 2021 MacDonald guided CIU to a 5th place finish at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship as the Rams finished top five in the AAC in just their third year as conference members.

On top of his coaching duties, MacDonald organized and hosted the CIU Spring Invitational and played an integral role in the Rams, hosting the 2020 NCCAA South Region Men's and Women's Golf Tournament at Columbia Country Club. 

MacDonald comes to the Rams after spending time in Orlando, Fla. where he worked in Business Development for TGA Premier Golf, served in various ministerial roles at Action Church, and spent time as an FCA Leader at the University of Central Florida. While at TGA, MacDonald managed a children's after-school golf program, which included leading on-course instruction, supervising coaches, and holding the title of Golf Camp Director for TGA. The Greer, SC native also spent time as the Tournament Director of the Swing Thought Tour, a year-long professional golf tour.

MacDonald brings a plethora of playing experience to the Rams from an impressive career at North Greenville University in the South Carolina upstate. A varsity golf letter-winner from 2011 to 2015, MacDonald was an NCCAA All-American in 2012 and 2013. During his senior season in 2015, MacDonald helped lead his team to the NCAA DII Southeast regional while also being named First Team All-Conference Carolinas. MacDonald also excelled in the classroom as he was recognized as an NCAA Academic All-American and the Conference Carolina Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015. 

A Greer, S.C. native MacDonald graduated from North Greenville University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and is currently finishing up his MBA at CIU. 

MacDonald is newly married and currently resides in Columbia with his wife, Allie.
