COLUMBIA, S.C. – CIU won the annual Competitor's Cup on Tuesday, defeating Bob Jones University (BJU) with a final score of 14-6.

CIU entered the final day with an 8-2 lead and secured the victory in Tuesday's singles matches at Spring Valley Country Club.

CIU's winners were Luke Hammond (6 and 5), Wyatt Butcher (1 up), Andrew Haarlow (7 and 5), Braydon Hileman (4 and 3), Bryson MacDonald (2 and 1), and Micah Smith (5 and 4).

BJU tallied wins versus Cam Stikeleather (2 and 1), Brandt Toburen (1 down), Santos Espinosa (1 down), and Will Robinson (2 and 1).

What Coach Jake Montgomery is saying: "After losing the competitors cup the last 3 years, today felt really good.  We were able to close out a lot of close matches which shows that we are built for the big moment.   We'll look to carry this momentum into AAC conference championship and look forward to a strong finish to our season."
