COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU women's basketball welcomed the St. Andrews Knights to the Moore Fitness Center on Tuesday night for their first home contest of 2025. Even with a fourth-quarter push, the Rams fell 83-54. 

Game Recap: The lead shifted back and forth in the opening five minutes before the visiting Knights began to pull away, ending the first quarter up 17-12. Tonaja Lester energized the Rams in the second quarter, scoring seven of their 10 points off the bench, but St. Andrews extended their advantage to 17 at halftime (39-22).

The third quarter saw a more balanced contest, with CIU adding 14 points to the Knights' 16, though the Rams still trailed by double digits (55-36). CIU's strongest showing came in the final frame, with Katlynn Chinn leading the effort with eight points and Madison Hatcher contributing six. Despite the late push, the Rams fell short, concluding the game with an 83-54 loss.

Lester led the Rams with a strong performance, recording 15 points and nine rebounds. Chinn joined her in double figures with 11 points, while Mariah Leinbach and Hatcher each added nine. Irene Were anchored the defense with seven rebounds to round out the team effort.
