DAYTON, Tenn. - CIU women's basketball traveled to Tennessee to take on Bryan College, where the Lions took an early lead that the Rams couldn't match. CIU fell 104-53 and is now 3-13 overall and 2-12 in conference play.
CIU found themselves behind early in the game but cut the lead down to 25-18 on a Keniah Watkins layup to start the second period. The Rams had a much better offensive outing in the second quarter then in the first as they added 20 points, with nine from Bethany Rymer. However, the Lions continued to pull away and led by 16 heading into the intermission.
The Rams trailed by double-digits in the third period as their offense could not keep up with Bryan's. CIU added only eight more points in the final period, with five from Watkins, to ultimately go down on the road.
Mariah Leinbach led the way with 15 points, while Rymer chipped in 12. Watkins added nine of her own with seven assists, while Jessica North grabbed seven rebounds off the glass.
