Rocket League begins NACE competition for 2023 fall season

September 27, 2023

CIU Rocket League Gold vs. Cleary College

CIU Rocket League Gold played a hard and aggressive first match against Cleary College on Monday night. Winning the first and third games of the Best of 5 set, the CIU Esports Rams fell to Cleary College in a nail-biting 5th game, losing the series 3-2. In a post-game meeting, players shrugged off the loss by strategically preparing their scrimmage schedule for this week, adding to it some layers that will improve one or two mechanics that were missing in this season kickoff event. Team Captain Carter Willis feels confident that there is plenty of fight left in the Rams for the following 7 games!

CIU Rocket League Gold competes in the NACE Varsity Plug division, where they'll compete against a wide variety of schools all over North America. Matches are held every Monday night at 7:00pm ET and are broadcasted on Twitch with shout casting provided by current CIU students and staff.

CIU Rocket League Blue vs. William Peace University

CIU Rocket League Blue fell to WPU 3-0 in the Best of 5 set. In a post-game meeting, Team Captain Campbell Miller rallied his team well by prescribing additional training with CIU Esports' Rocket League Gold roster to ensure the needed fundamentals were addressed and refined for next week's match against University of Dayton. Overall, morale and energy was high in response to the loss, and strategy and change were planned as a direct response. We can expect much out of Rocket League Blue this season!
