MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TENN. - CIU women's basketball continued through Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play with a road trip to Milligan University. Despite a fourth-quarter push from the Rams, they could not overcome the Buffalos and fell 71-34. CIU is now 2-7 on the year and 1-6 in AAC play.
CIU kept things close in the opening quarter and took a two-point lead off a three from Madison Hatcher, but the Buffalos began to pull away and led 15-7 going into the second quarter. Despite 11 points from the Rams, Milligan extended their lead and led by 18 (36-18) before intermission.
The Rams struggled offensively in the third quarter but made a push in the final ten minutes of the contest. CIU outscored Milligan 15-10 in the fourth quarter but still trailed 71-34 to end the game.
Bethany Rymer posted her second double-double of the season with 13 points and ten rebounds. After being out due to injury at the beginning of the season, Madison Hatcher also posted double-digit points with 11. Keniah Watkins chipped in four points, six assists, and seven rebounds, while Aubrielle Harris picked up a season-high of four blocks.
