COLUMBIA,, S.C. - CIU esports's Rocket League team picked up their first win as member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) on Monday as they defeated Cleary University (Mich.) 3-1 (4-0, 2-3, 5-1, 2-1). The CIU Rocket League team members who saw action on Monday night consisted of
Carter Willis,
Casey Feaster, and
Campbell Miller. Head esports coach Scotty Grigsby spoke on his teams performance saying "Thought the team played well tonight. There are many areas that we need to get better in, however. I was pleased to see us get a win for the first time ever in NACE. We look forward to moving on to our next opponent."
CIU scored two late goals to close out Game One.
The Rams' next Rocket League contest will come on Sept. 27 versus Franklin College (Ind.) at 7 PM.
