Women's Basketball to host Milligan in first-round of AAC Tournament
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released the bracket for the AAC Women's basketball tournament Thursday afternoon. The CIU women's basketball team is the 7th overall seed and will host the 10th seeded Milligan at 2 PM in the Moore Fitness Center. The contest will be the first-ever AAC conference game in women's basketball history. If CIU wins, they move on to face 2nd seeded Union College, a team they have already defeated once this season. The game against the Bulldogs would take place in Kingsport, Tennessee, on February 24th at 4 PM.
However, before the Rams can start thinking about the conference quarterfinals, they have to take care of Milligan on Saturday.
Head Coach
Danielle Fleming spoke on her team's chances saying, "I am proud of my girls for being ranked 7th; having a home game is an advantage, but we respect Milligan, so it should be a great game. We will have to come out and compete from the jump."
