#20 Rams continue to impress at Roanoke College Invitational Challenge
SALEM, Va. – The CIU men's indoor track and field traveled to the Roanoke College Invitational Challenge to compete in their third meet of the season. CIU competed primarily against NCAA Division III programs and teams out of the NAIA. CIU would find success in several different areas.

Isaac Winkfield took home first place in the high jump for CIU as he set a school record with a height of 1.83m. The Rams had another first-place finish in John Hunter James, who finished first in the pole vault with a height of 5m. Sophomore Blake Rimmer finished in second in the pole vault with a height of 4.50m. This is James' second consecutive first-place finish after grabbing the top spot last week at the Samford Open. James' mark was also good enough to set the facility record at Roanoke College's Cregger Center.

Seth Despres finished third in the shot put with a distance of 11.48m. Despres also finished fourth in the weight throw while his teammate Jonathan Hicks finished third in the same event with a mark of 12.25m.

Coach Brooker commented on his team saying, "The men came out and crushed it! John Hunter broke the facility record here in Salem in the pole, and I was excited to see Blake finish second behind him. I was also very proud of Isaac for clearing 6ft in the high jump for the first time ever. We had several conference qualifying marks, and I am happy with how we rebounded from last week."

The Rams return home next week for the CIU February Invitational as the Rams will host a home meet on February 5th and 6th.
