Columbia, SC -- Tonight was the Battle of Columbia as the Columbia International University Rams took on Allen University. The Rams were looking to pick up their second win in a row and the Yellow Jackets were looking to sweep the season series. 

The Basics

How it Happened:

• The Rams jumped to an early 6-2 lead with points from Zeleria Simpson and Jordan Spruell. The Yellow Jackets would take tie the game at six, but then the Rams tied it at 8. The Yellow Jackets would hold onto the lead until there were 29 seconds left in the quarter. Semoine Frasier would score the final points and the Rams would lead 15-14 at the end of the quarter.
• Going into the second quarter the Yellow Jackets would regain the lead. The Rams would tie the game at 20 thanks to a jumper from Raven Fleming. The Yellow Jackets would regain the lead and hold onto it throughout the rest of the half. The Rams were down 30-24 at the half.
• The Yellow Jackets jumped their lead up to double figures to start the half. After two free throws from Jordan Spruell the Rams cut the lead to four, 42-38. The Yellow Jackets led 52-42 after the third quarter.
• The Rams scored the first points of the fourth on free throws by Spruell. They would trim the lead to five with 8:19 remaining.  The Rams would keep it tight over the next three minutes and trim the Yellow Jackets lead to three after a jumper from Victoria Dickerson. However, the Yellow Jackets would keep the lead and win 65-55.

Inside the Columbia International Box Score:

• The Rams shot 31.1% (19-of-61) from the field and were 15-of-20 from the free throw line
• Jordan Spruell had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds
• Zeleria Simpson had a solid game with 13 points and eight assists

Inside the Allen Box Score:

• The Yellow Jackets shot 39% (23-of-59) from the floor and were 13-of-15 from the free throw line
• Jada Sleet led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points
