Zeleria Simpson's Near Triple-Double Lifts the Rams to Victory
Columbia, SC -- The Columbia International University women's basketball team came into tonights game on a high note from winning their last time out. The Rams welcomed the Toccoa Falls College Screaming Eagles to the Moore Fitness Center tonight. The Screaming Eagles came in without a win and were looking to pick up their first of the season, while the Rams were looking for a small winning streak. The Rams were led by
Zeleria Simpson who fell one assist short of a triple-double as the Rams won 64-40.

How it Happened:
- Over the first five minutes the Rams and Screaming Eagles went back and forth as the game was tied at two and five before the Rams gained the advantage. After the game was tied at five the Rams went on a 10-0 run that was highlighted by four points from Semoine Frasier. The Screaming Eagles would get the final points of the half, but the Rams went into the second quarter leading 15-8.
- Throughout the first two and a half minutes the teams would trade baskets. At the 3:38 mark the Rams would regain a double digit after Simpson found Jordan Spruell in the paint. The Rams would continue to run their lead up and ended the half on a high note with a three from Victoria Dickerson. The Rams led 31-15 after twenty minutes.
- The Rams came out of the half and scored the first four points thanks to Spruell and Simpson. After a layup from Raven Fleming at the 6:38 mark the Rams pushed their lead over twenty for the first time of the night. The Screaming Eagles went on a 8-2 run to end the quarter, but the Rams still led 47-29.
- The Rams opened the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run to push their lead to twenty-nine. During the run Dickerson scored seven of the Rams points. The Rams and Screaming Eagles would trade baskets, but the Rams held a firm lead and won 64-40.

- Zeleria Simpson had a career night with 12 points, 15 assists, and nine rebounds
- Victoria Dickerson scored a team high 18 points

- The Rams pulled down and impressive 56 rebounds
